Why I ended up stocking Koala photo paper

A little backstory on why I ended up stocking Koala photo paper 😅

When I first started making magnets, I went through so much trial and error trying different papers, finishes, thicknesses, printer settings… wasting prints, dealing with smudging, roller marks, colours not looking right - all the fun stuff 😂

And once I finally found combinations that worked well, I kept getting asked:
“What paper are you using?”

I also noticed a lot of AU/NZ makers were struggling with:

• finding quality photo paper locally
• long overseas shipping times
• inconsistent paper quality
• not knowing what paper actually works best for magnets

Especially when pressed magnets and flexible magnets often need completely different types of paper.

That’s really what led me to start stocking Koala photo paper locally here in Australia.

Not because I originally planned to become a supplier 😅
But because I genuinely found papers I loved using myself and wanted to make them easier for other makers to access too.

The three I currently stock are:

🖨 Koala 115gsm Glossy
→ lightweight + vibrant
→ great for pressed magnets with mylar

🖨 Koala 120gsm Double-Sided Glossy
→ print on both sides
→ less wastage and guessing which side to print on
→ great for pressed magnets with mylar

🖨 Koala 260gsm Satin/Semi-Gloss
→ thicker premium feel
→ reduced glare with a softer satin finish
→ improved moisture and handling resistance compared with standard glossy photo papers
→ great for flexible magnets without mylar in many indoor applications

It’s honestly been really nice receiving feedback from both new and repeat customers about the print quality they’re getting with the Koala paper from Create Print Love 🤍
