One of my favourite parts of supplying photo paper is seeing what customers actually create with it especially when it's something I hadn't thought of myself.
Recently, a customer reached out to show me how she was using Koala 260gsm Satin Photo Paper to make cake toppers.
And in a funny turn of events, I got to see the finished result for myself.

From photo paper to cake topper
A little while after my customer showed me what she'd been making, I happened to need a cake topper for my son's birthday and placed an order with her.
So the Koala Satin paper she'd originally purchased from Create Print Love eventually made its way back to me.... as a finished cake topper!
It was such a great example of a product being used in a way I hadn't originally considered.
And clearly the Satin has been working well for her, because she has since returned to purchase another 10 packs!
Why Satin photo paper can work well for cake toppers
At 260gsm, Koala Satin is a much heavier paper than the lightweight glossy papers often used for applications such as pressed photo magnets.
The extra weight gives the paper more body, making it an interesting option for printed craft projects where a heavier paper is preferred.
It also has a beautiful low-sheen Satin finish. You still get vibrant colour and photographic detail, but without the highly reflective surface of traditional glossy photo paper.
That can be particularly appealing for cake toppers and party decorations that are likely to be photographed.
